Harvard GAMI is an interdisciplinary student group that seeks to develop and implement accessible and socially impactful medical technologies for low resourced healthcare settings globally. Under the mentorship of Project Prana Foundation, GAMI student innovation teams are matched with industry partners/healthcare change-makers, and have been working on developing innovative solutions for critical global health challenges during the 2024-2025 academic year.

The symposium featured a poster walk-through and competition, to hear about student innovations, interact with prototypes, competitive judging and rigorous judge feedback, and have interesting conversations about the impact of groundbreaking technologies in healthcare!

Meet the Keynote Speaker

Dr. Monica Agarwal is an Assistant Professor at Duke University, jointly appointed in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics and the Department of Computer Science. Her research focuses on improving methods and monitoring for clinical large language models (LLMs), understanding clinical human-AI interactions, developing smarter electronic health records, and advancing machine learning and natural language processing for women’s health.

She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), where she was a member of the Clinical Machine Learning Group. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University. In addition to her academic work, Dr. Agarwal is a co-founder of Layer Health, a company building intelligent infrastructure for healthcare.
